Mechanism of Action:

A vascular endothelial growth factor receptor-2 (VEGFR-2) antagonist called ramucirumab inhibits VEGFR-2, which stops vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) from binding. By blocking this pathway, it prevents angiogenesis—the process by which new blood vessels are formed—which is necessary for tumor growth and metastasis. By stopping the cancer cells' blood supply, this action starves them, delaying the growth of the tumor and maybe causing it to shrink.
