Mechanism of Action:

A multi-kinase inhibitor called sorafenib targets many receptors implicated in angiogenesis and tumor development. It mostly prevents:

·         The receptor for the vascular endothelial growth factor

·         Growth factor receptor generated from platelets

·         A component of the MAPK/ERK signaling cascade is Raf kinase.

Sorafenib works by obstructing these pathways, which inhibits the development of tumors, reduces angiogenesis (the production of new blood vessels), and causes cancer cells to undergo programmed cell death (apoptosis).
