Bufatas IV 60mg Injection contains Busulfan, an alkylating agent used in chemotherapy, especially in preparation for bone marrow or stem cell transplantation.

Composition: Busulfan

Mechanism of Action:

Busulfan inhibits transcription and DNA replication by alkylating DNA, which causes DNA strands to cross-link. In the end, this results in cell death, particularly in cells that divide quickly, like cancer cells.

Uses:

·       Chronic Myeloid Leukemia

·       Bone marrow/Stem cell transplant conditioning

·       Acute Myeloid Leukemia

·       Other hematologic malignancies

Dosage and Administration:

Often administered as 0.8 mg/kg every 6 hours for 4 days in a row (for a total of 16 doses), in addition to additional medications such as fludarabine or cyclophosphamide, depending on the regimen.
