Cathflush 2ml Injection contains Heparin, an anticoagulant that prevents blood clot formation. It is frequently used to treat and prevent pulmonary embolism, deep vein thrombosis (DVT), and to keep intravenous catheters open by preventing clots from forming inside of them.

Mechanism of Action:

Heparin inhibits coagulation factors IIa (thrombin) and Xa more quickly when it binds to antithrombin III (ATIII). By decreasing fibrin synthesis, this stops clots from growing and forming new ones.

Dosage and Administration:

The administration routes are subcutaneous (SC) or intravenous (IV). The patient's weight, coagulation monitoring, and the clinical indication all affect dosage.

How to use this medication?

Heparin is injected subcutaneously (under the skin), typically twice a day for 10-14 days. Follow your doctor's instructions exactly, and do not adjust the dose or frequency on your own.

Use Heparin as prescribed even if you feel good. Heparin should not be stopped without first consulting your doctor.
