Erypeg 75mcg Injection is a pegylated recombinant human erythropoietin injection that is primarily used to treat anemia associated with chronic kidney disease (CKD), cancer chemotherapy, and other conditions that cause low red blood cell counts.

Brand Name: Erypeg

Composition: Pegylated Recombinant Human Erythropoietin

Mechanism of Action:

The kidneys naturally create erythropoietin, a hormone that controls the synthesis of red blood cells. The synthetic version of this hormone found in Erypeg 30 is pegylated, or bound to polyethylene glycol, to prolong its half-life in the blood. Compared to non-pegylated forms of erythropoietin, the pegylation increases stability and duration of effect, requiring fewer doses.

Uses:

Anemia in Chronic Kidney Disease

Anemia Due to Chemotherapy

Anemia in HIV-Infected Patients

Dosage and Administration:

Erypeg 75 is often injected subcutaneously, or behind the skin, in the upper arm, thigh, or abdomen. The patient's weight, the underlying reason of their anemia, and their response to treatment all influence the precise dosage.
