Mechanism of Action:

Clofarabine inhibits ribonucleotide reductase, stops DNA synthesis, and causes apoptosis. It becomes integrated into cancer cells' DNA, terminating DNA strands and stopping additional replication. Furthermore, it stops cancer cells from generating new DNA by inhibiting ribonucleotide reductase, an enzyme necessary for DNA synthesis. Furthermore, clofarabine inhibits the growth of malignant cells by activating pathways that result in apoptosis, or programmed cell death.
