Vortero 200mg Injection contains voriconazole, an antifungal medication. It functions by preventing the formation of ergosterol, an essential element of fungal cell membranes, and is used to treat severe fungal infections, especially in immunocompromised people.

Composition: Voriconazole 200mg 

Mechanism of Action:

The azole antifungal Voriconazole functions by preventing the production of ergosterol, which is essential for the formation of fungal cell membranes. Voriconazole induces increased permeability of the fungal cell membrane, which results in cell death, by interfering with the formation of ergosterol.

Dosage and Administration:

Vortero 200mg Injection is administered intravenously. The dose is usually adjusted based on the patient’s body weight and condition.

Contraindications/Warnings: 

Voriconazole is contraindicated with concomitant use of CYP3A4 substrates that prolong the QT interval, including quinidine, pimozide, and ergot alkaloids, due to risk of serious arrhythmia (torsades de pointes). It is also contraindicated with rifampin, carbamazepine, high-dose ritonavir, sirolimus, and St. John's Wort, due to significant drug interactions. Hepatotoxicity, including severe cases, has been reported; liver function should be monitored before and during treatment. Visual disturbances are common and usually transient; patients should be cautioned about driving or operating machinery. Prolonged use has been associated with phototoxicity and an increased risk of skin cancer (squamous cell carcinoma); sun exposure should be avoided or limited, and periodic skin examinations are recommended for long-term therapy.
