Mechanism of Action:
The main way that the anthracycline antibiotic doxorubicin prevents cancer is by intercalating into DNA and blocking the topoisomerase II enzyme. A liposomal and pegylated version of doxorubicin has been created to enhance its therapeutic characteristics.
