Mechanism of Action:

Tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α), which is essential for inflammation and the immunological response, is thought to be inhibited. Thalidomide also alters the immune system, which improves its capacity to fight off illnesses. Disrupting angiogenesis, the process of blood vessel production that cancers need to grow, is another important action that may limit the development and spread of tumors.

Dosage and Administration:

The standard initial dosage for multiple myeloma is 100 mg taken orally once daily; however, this can be changed depending on the patient's tolerance and response. It is recommended that Thalix capsules be taken orally, ideally at the same time every day. Instead of chewing or crushing the capsules, consume them whole with water.

How to use this medication?

Thalidomide is given orally as a pill, often once day with water before bedtime, at least one hour after dinner. It may be taken more frequently if prescribed for ENL; always follow your doctor's instructions and don't change the dosage without first talking to them.

Until you're ready to take the capsules, keep them in their original package. Avoid handling or opening the capsules more than is required. Wash the exposed area of your skin with soap and water if it comes into contact with powder or broken capsules.
