Mechanism of Action:

Magnesium oxide neutralizes excess stomach acid, acting as an antacid. In the stomach, it combines with hydrochloric acid to produce water and magnesium chloride. Additionally, it provides magnesium ions that are necessary for the activities of muscles, nerves, and enzymes. It draws water into the intestines to act as an osmotic laxative at larger dosages.

How to use this Medication?

Magnesium oxide is available orally as tablets. Depending on the brand and your condition, you should take it one to four times a day on average.
