Caprin 5000IU Injection contains Heparin is a naturally occurring glycosaminoglycan that acts as a potent anticoagulant. It prevents blood clot formation by enhancing the activity of antithrombin III, which inhibits clotting factors such as thrombin (Factor IIa) and Factor Xa.

Mechanism of Action:

Heparin inhibits coagulation factors IIa (thrombin) and Xa more quickly when it binds to antithrombin III (ATIII). By decreasing fibrin synthesis, this stops clots from growing and forming new ones.


Uses:

·       Deep vein thrombosis

·       Pulmonary embolism


Dosage and Administration:

The administration routes are subcutaneous (SC) or intravenous (IV). The patient's weight, coagulation monitoring, and the clinical indication all affect dosage.
