Oxemia 100mg Tablet

Oxemia 100mgTablet contains Desidustat, a hypoxia-inducible factor prolyl hydroxylase (HIF-PH) inhibitor used for the treatment of anaemia associated with chronic kidney disease (CKD). It works by stimulating the body’s natural production of erythropoietin, a hormone responsible for red blood cell formation, thereby improving haemoglobin levels and reducing symptoms of anaemia such as fatigue and weakness.

Composition: Desidustat 100mg

Mechanism of Action:

Desidustat stabilizes hypoxia-inducible factor (HIF) by inhibiting hypoxia-inducible factor prolyl hydroxylase (HIF-PH) enzymes. In individuals with chronic renal disease, stabilized HIF increases erythropoietin transcription and improves iron metabolism, which raises erythropoiesis and improves hemoglobin levels.

Uses:

• Anaemia associated with chronic kidney disease (CKD)
• Anaemia in dialysis and non-dialysis CKD patients
• Improvement of haemoglobin levels and reduction in blood transfusion requirements

Dosage and Administration:

Usual Adult Dosage is 100mg orally three times a week

Side Effects:

• Headache
• Fever
• Vomiting
• Abdominal pain
• Weakness
• Peripheral oedema
• Nausea
• Increased blood pressure

Safety Advise:

Kidney  

Patients with kidney illness should use Oxemia with caution. Oxemia dosage adjustments can be required. Kindly speak with your healthcare provider.

Liver  

The use of Oxemia in individuals with liver dysfunction is not well-documented. Kindly speak with your healthcare provider.

Pregnancy  

Prior to beginning the Oxemia medication, let your healthcare provider know if you are pregnant, suspect you are pregnant, or are planning to become pregnant. 

Breast Feeding  

It is strongly recommended that you speak with your healthcare provider before using an Oxemia if you are nursing a baby.

Alcohol  

It is unknown if drinking alcohol while using Oxemia is safe. Kindly speak with your healthcare provider.

Storage:

Store the injection at a temperature below 30°C (room temperature). Keep the Tablet away from light and moisture.

How to use this medication?

As directed by your physician, take the Oxemia 100mg Tablet. Use water to swallow the entire tablet. Avoid breaking, crushing, or chewing the tablet. It can be taken as prescribed by a doctor or on an empty stomach. To track hemoglobin levels and treatment response, routine blood testing may be recommended
