Menactra Vaccine

Menactra Vaccine is a Meningococcal Conjugate Vaccine (MCV4) that provides protection against invasive meningococcal disease induced by Neisseria meningitidis serogroups A, C, Y, and W-135. Meningococcal polysaccharides and diphtheria toxoid protein are joined in this conjugate vaccine, which greatly enhances immunity, particularly in young infants.

Uses:

Dosage and Administration:

·       9–23 months: 2 doses minimum at least 3 months apart.

·       One 0.5 ml intramuscular injection (ideally deltoid) for individuals aged 2 to 55.

·       Depending on their age and level of exposure, high-risk individuals could require booster doses.

How to use this Medication?

Adults and children two years of age and older typically receive Menactra just once. If you have a high risk of meningococcal infection and it has been at least four years since your last vaccination, you could require a booster dose. Younger kids will require two doses.

You might not be completely protected against illness if you don't take all of the prescribed dosages of Menactra.
