Sorafekast 200mg Tablet contains Sorafenib is a tyrosine kinase inhibitor used to treat liver, kidney, and thyroid cancers.
Brand Name: Sorafekast
Composition: Sorafenib 200mg
Mechanism of Action:
A multi-kinase inhibitor called sorafenib targets many receptors implicated in angiogenesis and tumor development. It mostly prevents:
· The receptor for the vascular endothelial growth factor
· Growth factor receptor generated from platelets
· A component of the MAPK/ERK signaling cascade is Raf kinase.
Sorafenib works by obstructing these pathways, which inhibits the development of tumors, reduces angiogenesis (the production of new blood vessels), and causes cancer cells to undergo programmed cell death (apoptosis).

Dosage and Administration:
The usual recommended dose of Sorafekast Tablet is 200mg taken twice daily, with adjustments based on tolerance and clinical response. It should be taken on an empty stomach, at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after meals, and the tablets should be swallowed whole with water without crushing or chewing.
Contraindications/Warnings:
Sorafenib carries serious warnings for hepatotoxicity, which can be severe and, rarely, fatal; liver function should be monitored regularly, especially during the first two months of treatment. It also carries risks of hemorrhage (including fatal bleeding events), gastrointestinal perforation, hypertension (blood pressure should be monitored and controlled before starting therapy), cardiac ischemia and infarction, QT prolongation, and impaired wound healing — sorafenib should be stopped before elective surgery. It is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to sorafenib. Concurrent use with certain chemotherapy agents (such as platinum-based drugs combined with carboplatin/paclitaxel in squamous cell lung cancer) is not recommended due to increased mortality risk seen in clinical trials.
