Mechanism of Action:

Meropenem is a carbapenem antibiotic that works by binding to penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs) on the bacterial cell wall, inhibiting cell wall synthesis and causing bacterial cell lysis and death. It has broad-spectrum activity against many Gram-positive and Gram-negative organisms, including many resistant strains, and is stable against a wide range of beta-lactamases (though not against carbapenemases).
